The quality of FreeBSD combined with today's low-cost, high-speed
PC hardware makes FreeBSD a very economical alternative to commercial
UNIX workstations. It is well-suited for a great number of both
desktop and server applications.
Easy to install
FreeBSD can be installed from a variety of media including CD-ROM,
floppy disk, magnetic tape, an MS-DOS partition, or if you have a
network connection, you can install it directly over anonymous
FTP or NFS. All you need is a pair of blank, 1.44MB floppies and
these directions.
NOTE TO THE NUKERS: Despite the name of the software this is just
like the major retail distributions of Linux (SuSE, Mandrake, etc.)
and the iSOs here are legitimate, store-bought copies with a
total of 10CDs. This first only CD1 of this release is a free
download while the other three are only available through a retail
purchase of FreeBSD. Expect a similar explaination in our next iSO
release of FreeBSD affiliated toolkits.
NOTE TO LEECHERS: With this iSO release I STRONGLY encourage
that you follow the "try before you buy" policy which only a few
of you seem to appreciate. I bought a copy of FreeBSD, just like
I did with Mandrake Linux because the developers offer such a great
product and deserve all the money they can get. If you use this
release for more than 2 monthes I beg you to buy a legit copy.
